Tech Services Handling of Materials during Covid-19

Books and Discs (repairs, new purchases and gifts) will be quarantined for at least 1 week after initial intake and be handled with gloves at-all-times before being handed-off to their destination after processing. All cloth-covered books will retain their paper covers and will be layered with plastic mylar. Any cloth covered repairs will incubate for at least 2 weeks before repair.

Since there is little control of the unsystematic use of serials and newspapers, they will be regarded as regular open stacks materials ("at your own risk...") and shelved as such, without any special preparation.

Requested print student publications will be handled with gloves before being delivered to the Circulation Desk for student pick-up. Titles that are re-requested immediately (w/o at least 3 day buffer) will have to wait 3 days (a good majority of those requested are repeats)
