Zotero Citation Management

Cite while you Write

Cite While You Write (CWYW)

Cite While You Write with Zotero is a feature that allows you to insert citations directly into your document as you write, making it easy to manage references and create a bibliography automatically. Here's how it works:

  • Zotero integrates with word processors like Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and LibreOffice.
  • As you write your paper, you can quickly add citations from your Zotero library without leaving your document.
  • Zotero formats the citations according to the style (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.) you choose.
  • It also automatically generates and updates a bibliography at the end of your document based on the citations you’ve inserted.

This feature streamlines the research and writing process, saving time and reducing errors in citation formatting.
