Troubleshooting Installation Issues

If the Zotero Tab Doesn't Appear in Word

• Check for Disabled Add-ins (Windows):

  • In Word, go to File > Options > Add-ins.
  • At the bottom, select "COM Add-ins" from the Manage dropdown and click "Go".
  • Ensure "Zotero Word for Windows Integration" is checked.

• Check for Templates (Mac):

  • In Word, go to Tools > Templates and Add-ins.
  • Ensure "Zotero.dotm" is listed and checked.
  • If not, click "Add", navigate to /Applications/Zotero, and select Zotero.dotm.

Reinstalling the Word Plugin

• Repeat the Manual Installation Steps outlined above to reinstall the plugin.

Connector Issues

• Connector Button Missing:

  • Ensure the extension is enabled in your browser's extension settings.

• Zotero Not Detecting Browser:

  • Make sure the Zotero desktop application is running.
  • Restart both the browser and Zotero.
