Using a combination of the JKM Library's print and electronic resources will help you find background information about individuals. A good place to start is with the reference books at the library. The following books are found in the reference section on the library's first floor.
The JKM Library has over 340,000 ebooks that you can either read online or download. Keep in mind that a single book may not be written on one individual unless that person has had a particularly prolific career. It is more likely that you will find chapters or sections within larger works that focus on that person. Below are the library's ebook databases:
Using effective search terms will yield relevant results. To find information specifically about the person, search for their name.
When searching for books, keep in mind that not everyone is going to have a book written about them, it is much more likely that a person will be covered in a broader publication. Try using search terms like:
chemistry AND biography
scientific biography
women in chemistry
