 Tips for effective database searching:

  • DON'T use literal questions ex: How does Kara Walker use race in her work?

  • DO use targeted terms and join them together with AND ex: Kara Walker AND race

  • DO broaden to specific themes: ex: human body AND contemporary art

The Refine Results column in Discovery allows you to limit to Academic Journals, Newspapers, Magazines and Reviews.

You can also save and e-mail database results to yourself using the folder function.
