English Language Program: Cite Right & Avoid Plagiarism

What Is Plagiarism?

The Chatham University Honor System and Academic Integrity Policy defines plagiarism as "...when one represents the organizational design, ideas, phrases, sentences or larger units of discourse from another writer and/or speaker without proper acknowledgement in an academic course or exercise. Plagiarism occurs when one fails to document all the sources of text and ideas that derive from someone else's work." See the current course catalog to find the "Chatham Unversity Honor System and Academic Integrity Policy" for a full description of the policy and the consequences of violating it.
